My Perspective on The VA HealthCare System

I am a Vet and use the VA Healthcare system. I also have Medicare A & B, which I have never had occasion to use. Specifically, I use the La Jolla VA Hospital for Oncology and Cardio Interventions. I use the Oceanside Clinic for my annual checkups, labs, vision and hearing needs.

Those facilities see 1,000s of patients daily. My two sons are in medical fields, one is a Cath-Lab Technician, the other is a regional IT supervisor for two Orange County Hospitals. Both have gone with me, to talk with my doctors and check out how things are done and documented, when I have serious issues to deal with. They are impressed, as am I, with the systems, facilities and staff. I am completely happy with the quality of care I receive and so is everyone I talk to when I am in for a checkup. I have used the VA System for 15 years and intend to continue using it until I’m ready to die.
