Netanyahu’s purpose for coming here yesterday, became more clear today.
Today Israel asked for $300M, more than the $155M already appropriated for an ICBM defense system. This is more money than we appropriate for the Arts. Maybe they need to start paying taxes.
Israel has become the ungrateful, demanding step child of U.S. foreign policy. They want to tell us who we can talk to and what we can say. They want us to conform to their priorities for dealing with Iran, but refuse to stop expanding occupational settlements in Palestinian territories.
The path to Middle East peace does not run through Tel Aviv. We have to question what we are getting for our money, other than trouble.
