The media reporting on this story isn’t great. What is being reported are the hate filled accusations coming from the mouths of current day vigilantes, protesting outside the buses.
First of all, the screams to control the border couldn’t be less relevant. The people in these buses were apprehended at the border. They are already in control of the border patrol. They didn’t make it into the U.S., they are in custody.
Second, vitriolic rants about sending them back home, while interfering with the process that will do just that, shows how little the protestor know about what is going on. After being apprehended at the border, these people are being identified, and grouped for processing. Those with relatives in the U.S. able to take them are placed in those homes and given hearing dates. Others are given temporary shelter, while they are processed for return to their home countries.
No one is turned lose in Murrieta. There is no uncontrolled invasion coming across the border. The only invasion of Murrieta I see, is the influx of Minutemen vigilantes, bigots and meth heads, carrying signs about what they hate about mothers and children fleeing the same kind of hatred they are being greeted with, on the streets of a small California town that was founded by a Spaniard and was a rancho when Mexico held deeds to this part of California.
Immigrant paranoia is fuel for political chaos, and it’s harvested in the minds of isolated people who’s grasp of genetics and history has been replaced with one dimensional slogans and irrational paranoia.
