Regarding the Budget: (A Repost from July, 2010)

We are facing the consequences of years of deferred decisions and failure to face festering issues. Now, when we are forced to take action and resolve political and policy disparities, it is imperative that we prioritize our actions correctly.
The decisions we take now must be consistent across the board and not reflect conflicting, piecemeal concessions that nullify each other.
So, what are the guidelines being used to arrive at a new budget and what corrective action will it take to avoid getting into the same situation again?
