The Heart Beats With a Different Rhythm For a While

What filled the head with hope and dreams just yesterday,
Has changed, in a sudden moment, to confusing gray,
Expectation is swallowed in disorienting fog
And tears distort everything but persistent sorrow.

While this time will pass,
The memory will stay.
The way forward is, for a while, more guarded,
Until the rhythm of the heart’s restored.

I wish I were…I could sure use a big Jack-hug. I’ll settle for a virtual hug and I appreciate your thoughts and concern more than you’ll ever know. ❤

If you were here, I’d hug you and we would cry together.
