Sauk County District Attorney Patricia Barrett, a Republican, will decide whether to pursue criminal charges involving Wisconsin Justice Prosser and doesn’t know how long it will take to decide whether to prosecute the case.
She said she has not yet seen any of the reports from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, which investigated the June 13 incident at the request of Capitol Police, and has no idea how much material she will have to review.
Well that’s not an acceptable response. She needs to pick up a phone and have the reports sent over immediately, put on her reading glasses and look at them, talk to anyone she needs to and file charges. Waiting for something to arrive is not an acceptable action. It is no action at all. If a homeless man put his hands on a Justice, he’d be cooling his heels behind bars by now.
