Republicans who were ashamed of being associated with Bush, were angry and wanted a new party partner for their narrow, aging, out of fashion, religion based politics. The Tea Party seemed like the new next hope for an updated national identity and they took a leap.
Well, the thrill is gone. The old dissatisfaction has returned and the core of the GOP is right back where they started, ashamed of who they’ve been hanging with and looking for an identity makeover they can go out in public with. You’d think it would have hit them by now; it’s their personality that has them scavenging for sustenance in an over pruned garden.
