Our Ailing Democracy

A successful democracy requires efficient transfer of power after an election.

While opposition to outcomes gets in the way of that transition, like the reaction to 2000 Bush v Gore, it really becomes a problem when refusal to accept outcomes is combined with obstructionism, like the post 2008 Obama gridlock in the face of great national need.
