Pandering to fears of the insecure has consequences. Yesterday, a distraught man, down on his luck, feeling threatened, snapped & shot two 2nd grade children at a grammar school in Carlsbad, CA.

This is the result of stoking fear in isolated people, afraid of non -white boogie men and non- Christian challenges from foreigners, pushing them when they are at their wits end.

Palin, Rove, Cheney are coming to a Bakersfield event? I didn’t think Cheney was still allowed in the US. Isn’t he a traitor? or evil extra-terrestrial demon? He is the architect of the Selling of America.

Every foreign Oil Based economy in the world is pouring money into the US election, through the Open Border Doors of the Chamber of Commerce & Rove’s “Anything 4 a Buck” Money Laundering Screen Door. These are the people who Pledge Allegiance at the Alter of Wealth and recruit votes from the ranks of the NRC Unemployed.

Well, hear this. It isn’t gonna work.

I can’t stand a pompous blowhard like Art Robinson. I like to get a person like that whipped to a frenzy and tell them they don’t know what they’re talking about. A vicious fight usually follows. That works for me, because I know when it’s coming.

I hate Dick Cheney, in some primitive, animal genetic way. Like a snake sees a mongoose or protector sees a predator. He’s like a Cannibal. He’s a cruel manipulator for the Sport of it.

Cheney is a genetically malformed human who wants to redirect the course of human behavior, inflict death in massive numbers through deprivation and hide long enough to rule his altered world. That’s what those energy meetings were all about.

Just like Blackwater represents Cheney’s Private Armey, The CoC, Rove & Armey represent his Shadow CIA. We are witnessing an attempt to take over the Representative Democracy that is the United States of America and it has Cheney all over it.

I was first exposed to a community dealing with social needs, when San Diego wanted to charge a monthly fee for garbage collection, in the 60s. It seemed reasonable, because there is a cost associated with collection. But there was an issue. What happens if some neighbors lose their jobs or fall on tough times? Do you let the garbage pile up in the neighborhood? Along with the ancillary disease and aroma.

My wife does taxes. For the last 4 years, the number of clients who can’t pay her right away has increased. She does them anyway. When they have a little extra, she gets a check, sometimes they pay with tamales.

It’s all about sticking together.

There are so many invested in the War economy, as a locked in bet. If pollsters want something to peer into: How many GOP donors depend on continuous war?
Posted on Wednesday 6th October 2010

If I heard Andrea Mitchell right, she said ending the war would be unpopular because of the dramatic budget cuts.

When did fueling the war machine become more important than ending war? Who even thinks about shit like that? Oh yes, a Corporatista.

She’s worried about her investment in the war economy; the lives lost and changed forever are an altruistic consideration.

When I get bored, I like to find a GOP voter registration table, with a TParty dupe staffing it and spend 15 minutes or so asking what they expect to get when their candidates get elected.

Will they be wealthier, or more secure or have freedom to do anything they like. It’s hard to keep them on the hook that long, but that’s what makes it a sport.

The issues we face are there. Doing nothing doesn’t make them vanish or diminish their significance. And, due in large part to the visibility we have into why proposed solutions stall and get watered down, our nation is ready for action and tired of talk. Anyone with a rational mind understands what is going on. No spin or fabricated ideology can change reality and insisting on fairytales instead.

Posted on Sunday 3rd October 2010
The whole world is watching us in disbelief. Our irrational behavior, only exceeded by the disingenuous demagoguery used to justify it, is past the point of reasonable patience.

The arbitrary, fabricated arguments that make headlines and occupy precious time we allotted to forging solutions for our serious social and financial problems are the tar baby we must extricate ourselves from. We are our own worst enemy & it isn’t easy abandoning old, extreme positions.

We are in a world where media focus is continuously on controversy, chaos & campaigning instead of solutions, rational behavior & governance. It’s time to stop the death spiral and focus on the work at hand.

Saying it is ok to drive on any side of the street you like doesn’t work. We need government to avoid self-destruction. The idea that government is the problem is being exploited for political advantage, for and by politicians who lack moral character. However inappropriate and illogical the tactic might be, it is effective. It wakes up the aimless, disenchanted and confused and puts them into an agitated, ready for action state of mind. Just point them in any direction and turn them loose. They will do something disruptive.

This tactic is sinister, intentional and unacceptable. It is a threat to our stability and security as a nation and a people. We are a socio-economic federal republic complex. We are held together by common purpose, spirit, desire and law. We use government to keep us on track. We are in this together. We are the government. We are not the enemy. We are the people.

All conversation about economic theory that does not include an assessment of social effect is shallow and divisive. Calls to privatize our economy without consideration for how that might amplify the gap in wealth distribution, is making only half the case. More importantly, insisting on broadcasting half-baked opinions gets in the way developing effective policy.
Effective policy, at its heart, has acquired commitments, addressed issues and resolved conflicts for market control methods and considered their consequences.
The health and wellbeing of our nation is the priority. Ideology at any cost is never a wise or effective consideration.

POTUS isn’t a socialist, he’s a Keynesian Capitalist. We are so far right rhetorically, that J.M. Keynes’ principles of economic management are a threat to entrenched corporate interests.

Coal is not an acceptable fuel for energy production. It is extremely damaging to our environment and any more delay in transitioning away from it is not acceptable. The argument that it is cost effective is false, not taking into account the real costs being queued up in holding ponds, our water table and the atmosphere that protects our planet. Stop burning coal, is not just a slogan, it is an imperative.

There is no logical reason to continue burning coal and it is certainly not in the public interest to pretend there are valid economic advantages. We need Jobs and clean air and the time to start is now.

Dilution of One Person – One Vote: The Supreme Court has diluted the influence of individuals and replaced it with the influence of money. The decision to allow unrestricted spending on campaigns and legislative marketing is the culmination of decades of effort to replace 1 person – 1 vote with monetary manipulation of government and law.
This incredible display of ideology driven bias, lack of rational judgment and indifference to public welfare is a declaration by the SCOTUS that representative democracy will take a back seat to government by the highest bidder. The gap between wealthy and poor that has increased dramatically in the past 40 years is now codified in law.
The public, marginalized by the court, will only be able to mumble weakly against the amplified bullhorns of oligarch influence.

Family planning is an imperative.
We live in a world where exploding human population is stressing our water, food, air, climate, social institutions and economic structures. As a species, we are using up and polluting the things we require to survive. When we logically consider threats to our survival as a species, nation and individuals, terrorist attacks pale by comparison.
No matter how shocked we are by outrageous attacks by home grown crazies and desperate foreign zealots, we are inevitably destined to suffer crippling and even extinction level assaults that are self-imposed.

Energy: While avoiding near term costs for energy investment, we have pushed a bow wave of problems before us that are swamping the economy and our environment.
The consequences of those deferred costs are precipitating global problems and require immediate attention. Consumption of polluting fuel that we have to borrow to buy is a dead end and dumping money into a 100 year old energy architecture mires us deeper into a situation with no future.

The critical piece of Immigration Reform is how those already here are dealt with fairly.
Many working class families have mixed status and deserve a solution that leaves them intact, able to continue contributing to our communities and commerce.
We need them. Their culture and history are an integral part of our historic fabric. Their art, community contributions and family ethic enrich us and diversify our lives. What reason is there to offend these incredibly gratious people?

A Thought or Two for John Boehner:
I was born in Youngstown and understand the loss of industry. People got by or left.
What I don’t understand is promoting bull shit ideology, with no social value, as an argument against rational, well thought out policy changes that are needed.
You are wasting my time with this “I get my direction from the lobbies” approach. It’s insulting & lazy. You can’t think for yourself, and are doing corporate gangster’s bidding.
That makes you useless. A representative unable to think for himself, let alone the people you represent. You are a failure by any measure and should muster any remaining spine, get up and leave.

When young people today face stepping out on their own, there isn’t a lot to be optimistic about. Low paying Jobs, Future uncertainty & High priced homes.
This is the legacy of a persistent austerity campaign that has been going on for at least 30 years. I saw my boys dealing with it & we talked a lot. It took them until they were in their early 30’s to get to a point they could afford a family and a have little income security.
When I look back on the years they worked to define their narrow path to happiness, I’m impressed at their resolve. I can understand how many get swallowed up in the process.
The chronic, never ending GOP political struggle for control of the government has cast a joyless shadow on the spirit of our nation.

Something’s going on between banks and Fannie & Freddie. Banks still have massive underwater assets at inflated value on their books & no 1 to buy them.
Fannie & Freddie are not taking on any more, because the banks won’t buy them back at reasonable value. The housing market is still under significant deflationary pressure.
I wonder how a foreclosure shows up on bank balance sheets?

I was not in favor of Michael Vick being allowed to return to the NFL. What he did was something he will live with the rest of his life, short of being reincarnated. It is orders of magnitude more repulsive than anything Pete Rose did or thought of doing.
Vick’s return to the NFL is only possible because owners see money being made. You will notice the broad, persistent marketing campaign we are going through now. It is designed to refocus public attention from what he did to how great his skills are & what he brings to the game. I expect this media promotion will continue as long as he is healthy and winning games. When that stops happening, he’ll be discarded, painted as over the hill & spat upon as morally reprehensible.
Nothing seems to get in the way of making money in the NFL…. Not concussions, not steroids, not public loyalty, not ethical behavior. Nothing.

Obama’s busting the TBag facade 1 disenfranchised group at a time. Unemployed workers cheated out of their unemployment benefits, Students struggling 2 pay inflated prices 4 an education, Retired Medicare Seniors on fixed incomes watching their Healthcare costs explode beyond their means, Small business owners fighting 4 loans from large banks who are given 0 interest access to the Treasury, immigrants hung out to dry by those who use them to do work beneath their station and deny them access to schools and hospitals.
The GOP have used, picked clean and discarded every middle class group in the country and expect them to vote GOP? It isn’t gonna happen.

My take away from TRMS interview with Holbrooke on Pakistan:
He, incidentally, feels very comfortable having a serious discussion with Rachel and his respect for her is obvious.
We’ve been trying to pay Pakistan to contain & break up radical insurgents in their country and they only ask for more money than spend it on weapons and political intelligence operations.
Now, it looks like we are taking a different approach; one that says there is no more money to give. Money will have to come from Pakistan’s people. We will help, but they must finance their own future and disaster recovery themselves. The reality of cutting off new aid and specter of aid reduction is a powerful negotiation tool.

How is it possible that mining coal, refining it into fuel, storing the poisonous residue in ponds & distributing it in trains & trucks, to Power plants that belch smoke into the air, convert the heat of burning it into electricity, that’s carried 100s of miles over massive power lines, to a transformer substation, to utility power lines, to a home…. How is that more cost effective than converting sunbeams to electricity on a solar panel, on the roof of a home that consumes it?

Religious fundamentalism is a disease wherever it exists. Pandering to this twisted, misdirected emotional energy is a tactic promoted and liberally used by the GOP and Right Wing political organizations.

This pandering has predicable criminal overtones, as it attempts to mandate beliefs and punish those with alternative views.

The great failure of the Private Business Sector is their aversion to long term investments. They like being seen as risk takers, but that and entrepreneur are just image engineering labels to romanticize short term, rigged bets made to turn a quick, easy profit at the long term expense of the economy and tax payers.

Language can be a series of binary grunts or binary components coupled into words that have infinitely more meaning than the grunts alone.
Science is the same way innovative technology (grunts) are combined into systems (words) and the result has a multitude of consequence (meaning), good, bad and unintended.
CFLs where seen as a bridge to efficient and safe technology (LEDs). The tradeoff was reducing the negative by-products of energy generation vs the impact of circulating mercury in the food, air and water systems.

RT @rubberstamprosk: John Maynard Keynes, the GOP’s latest whipping boy http://bit.ly/aODa0E // FDR used Keynesian economics to dig us out of the 1st Republican Depression and return the country back to the Middle Class.

Obama is now using it to dig us out of the 2nd Republican Depression. Here is basically how it works: You stop subsidizing the wealthy, make investments in our business short & long term production, stop rewarding wild ass speculation and start paying workers a livable wage.

It’s no wonder the GOP hate it.

Any religion, Christianity Islam, Judaism, Shintoism, Hinduism, that allows its faith to be hijacked for political purposes, ceases to be a valid vehicle of faith and is a political entity.

Under our Constitution, the volatile combination of faith and politics is predicted and not allowed. The fact that we have become sloppy with the boundaries of Church and State has lead us to this impasse. Our social conflict is self-inflicted and will continue until we separate the agendas of religion and government.

I’m convinced redefining history and patriotism are the same self-serving affliction. I also think it’s intentional

@GeorgeAMartini That fairy tale about Cons caring about the country was debunked by W, when he used 9/11 to invade Iraq, privatize to war for Halliburton & Blackwater, sacrifice 4,400 soldiers, drive the deficit up $3T, pumped that money into the pockets of his corporate owners and stagnated wages for the working class.

I know what patriotism smells like and it’s nothing like foul aroma coming from Cheney, Bush or Rove. I’m surprised Bush didn’t piss his pants, when he was told the Towers had been attacked. I saw the look on his face and so did everyone else who looked for themselves.

How is that cheaper than converting Sunbeams into Electrical Power?
