We seem to be sinking into a political quagmire of our own making. We are playing the game on the opposition’s field. My hope is that those defining the strategy to move a bill forward are not pandering to the people. I say that because it is incomprehensible to me that the momentum has been conceded to the opposition and we are in a battle of attrition, having given up the high ground. We need a public option. We need to portray the current privatized system for what it is; an insurance company hijacking of the healthcare system. We are paying blackmail money to these privateer pirates. We need to attack.
- Raise money and provide an organizational base for a frontal assault on the conservative opposition.
- Promote an insurance payment holidays. Everyone should stop paying premiums and let the insurers feel a little pain. We are the customer and they need to look out for our interests.
- We need to galvanize the polarized factions that have been isolated by the Republican divide and conquer tactics.
We are not as well organized as we should be and it shows.
