The Advent Panhandle

Leaving Thanksgiving, heading east to Christmas, the highway through Advent is empty of everything but anticipation. Amarillo’s in the distance and not much else. In these parts people are passing through. No pleasant surprise interrupts the monotony. Maybe there’s a basketball game on the radio between these evangelist stations fading in and out.
